Ebook About
Discover the remarkable history of the American Indian Wars...Free BONUS Inside! The American Indian Wars, a series of conflicts between white settlers and Native Americans which took place in the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, were complex, brutal and many. An official United States Census report published in 1898 noted at least 40 wars which had taken place in the previous 100 years. The total number of individual wars probably numbers well over 100, though many were localized and on a very small scale. The American Indian Wars were often bafflingly different, each with its own specific causes and precipitating factors. Yet each was also essentially similar: These wars was fought for possession of land. As white settlers gradually spread over what is now the United States of America, they encountered Native American tribes. The white settlers wanted to create farms and ranches. The tribes wanted the land for hunting. There could be no compromise—these were wars to the death for the right to establish or retain a way of life. The conflicts which resulted were numerous, violent, and localized. Although both sides suffered setbacks, this series of wars gradually pushed Native Americans out of their homelands to make way for the expansion of white settlement. This is a concise telling of the American Indian Wars, from the earliest Beaver Wars in the seventeenth century between French, Dutch, and British settlers and their Native American allies to the tragic confrontation at Wounded Knee Creek at the end of the nineteenth century.Discover a plethora of topics such as The Colonial Period Washington Takes on the Northwest Territory Andrew Jackson and the Seminole Wars Wars in the Wild West Sheridan’s Wars The Road to the Wounded Knee Massacre And much more!So if you want a concise and informative book on the American Indian Wars, simply scroll up and click the "Buy now" button for instant access!

Book American Indian Wars: A History From Beginning to End (Native American History) Review :

As usual, Hourly history lived up to their promise in delivering a brief recap of a time in history. The American Indian Wars extended over centuries, thus creating a difficult task for anyone choosing to encapsulate that much history in 60 minutes. One of the best features of the book is that it is essentially factual. Because of the many wars, battles, encounters, and skirmishes, there is little time to do more than give a few sentences of description and move on. HH picked the most pertinent facts and presented them.On the downside, it was difficult to understand why the author would use descriptive words like bewildering and baffling when describing the conflicts without any attempt at clarification. I worried that the book might present a slanted view because of this strange method of introduction, and am happy to report that HH was fairly successful at presenting a balanced view (although the body of the book focused on the settlers as the aggressors, and sometimes for good reason…plus it is difficult to argue against anyone who defends his property and land against what he considers to be aggressors).Thankfully, the author took the time at the end to address the issues of aggression and viciousness. The reactions of both sides is summed up well in one sentence: “combatants on both sides displayed bravery and tenacity, but both sides were also capable of employing ruthless violence on helpless non-combatants.”As an overview of this huge slice of history, this book achieves its goal. Those wishing to seek more knowledge with emerge with a rudimentary understanding of this period in time. Four stars.
A good over-view of the many wars with Native Americans from the first European Settlers to the end of the skirmishes. It is a short read but provides a back-ground of what drove the major conflicts across the entire continent. Of course the causes of the conflicts were quite different when the Indians were used as allies of the English, French or Americans as they often were early on in our history. It is hard not to judge history by current standards rather than by the standards of the time of the events, but it is equally hard not to feel sympathy for a people trying to protect their land and way of life.
